Personally, I like my CFL's. As the old light bulbs fail I have replacement them. My savings each month is now $8-$10. I am looking forward to replacing the CFL's with LED as the price for them declines and their lumens increase. I also replaced my furnace with a 90+ efficiency model and will do the same with my a/c unit. The savings I have achieved on my winter heating bill is just slightly more than the increased cost for the gas. I just wish there had been more rebates and tax savings when I bought the furnace. Vette1957 posted, "The cost of being "fuel efficient" will be passed on to all of us." Do you really think so???? I prefer the savings I have each month.

But does that mean everyone using a natural gas furnace to warm their house must have it replaced with a high efficiency one? I don't think that will happen quickly.

But do not be fooled. We will NOT "save our way" out of the energy crisis. And we don't need forced savings boondoggles like banning incandescent lights and forcing people onto other unproven technologies. Fluorescents have their drawbacks. Ever break one?
